And I totally nailed it, mind you. I love how most recipes will give you directions on how to make the filling, and then on the ingredients list, they have "pie crust." Well, guess what? I had to make that myself, too, because they don't sell them like that here. Sometime this week I think I'm gonna make another one and take it to the office. Maybe it'll cheer everyone up a little bit.

In other news, I've started watching Supernatural. I'm only 6 episodes in, and I do love it so far. But, man... Certain parts seriously freak me the fuck out because I'm pretty superstitious myself, believing in urban legends and everything... That episode about Bloody Mary gave me nightmares. That's all I'm sayin'.

!!!!!CHRISTMAS/NEW YEAR'S CARD EXCHANGE!!!!!
Leave your name and address here (all comments are screened) OR e-mail them to me at neurotoxicdoll@gmail.com if you'd like a card from me this year. I know it's still early, but I'd like to purchase cards next month, and I'd like to know how many I'll need to get. So, go ahead if you want one. You have until the end of this month.

  • Turkcell's internet service for cellphones is such crap. I don't wanna talk too much shit about it yet, but it pissed me off. All I want to do is to be able to text @vtext.com addresses from my cell so I don't have to sit in front of the computer the entire time when I'm texting Kathy. I did manage to go online with my phone, but I don't wanna have to open up a page and log in to GMail for that. I don't have that kind of patience. And what I do wanna do has to be possible. I'm gonna go in tomorrow and ask them, and if it can't be done, they should just cancel my service.
  • Apparently, there's a church here in Istanbul--of course, there are churches; you know what I mean-- that's only open on the first of every month. My boss said all the wishes she's made there had come true, so she's taking me with her on November 1st. I used to believe that you make your own luck, but this past 2 years I've learned the hard way that sometimes, when you're unlucky, you're just unlucky and there's nothing you can do about it. And trying just hurts more. So, yeah. I'll go and light a candle and make a wish.
  • I wish I was good at plucking or waxing my eyebrows 'cos I hate having to pay for it, especially when I'm this broke. At least I know how to make them not look like a rain forest, right?
  • I wish I could go on a shopping spree, but no can do.

I pulled an all-nighter, and I don't feel tired at all, which is good. Watched two movies while knitting: Smother and Away We Go. First one I watched only because Diane Keaton's in it, and it was fun, but mehhhh. The latter I liked, but I don't see why people make a big deal out of it. Anyway...

While all this was going on, I've realized I'm turning 26 in two months. TWENTY-SIX! And what do I have to show for it? Pretty much nothing. Ugh.

Oh, and I've found out that Flickr doesn't delete anything you upload. When you have a free account, you can only access the last 200 pictures you've uploaded, but once you purchase a Pro account, all your photos come back. So I picked up my 365 Days Project where I left off.

If Flickr isn't lying, tere means hello in Estonian. Nice, right?

365.34: Knitted moustache. I'm thinking maybe I should grow a real one, no? Part of a bigger project, but photos of that shall come later when it reaches its destined owner.

I can't wait to get paid 'cos, seriously, look at my eyebrows!

And don't forget, guys... MURSDAY IS A DAY AWAY.

P.S. I think using "dirty whore" to insult someone is rather redundant. Are there whores who aren't dirty? Doesn't being a whore already contain the dirty within itself? If someone's dirty, they're dirty. But if someone's a whore, they're both dirty AND a whore. No?

365.30: I've finished this yesterday. I have a feeling I'll be wearing it all winder, considering the weather gets cold enough-- *fingers crossed*

I was going to update about going to Yalova for the Ramadan holidays, but I don't feel like it. Short version: I hate being dragged EVERYWHERE and having to interact with unnecessary people, yet that's exactly what I had to do. I was up at 8am every morning, including the day after the Emmys. For those of you who didn't know, I watched it live, which meant the red carpet started at 1am, and I have no idea when it ended, but the sun was definitely up and burning.

The suckiest part of it was that my grandmother's oldest sister's daughter is creating drama and stirring up the family YET AGAIN. Even her brother agrees she's gone bananas, but people who don't know her believe her, which is enough for it to cause a scene in Izmit, where most of our relatives live. Oh, well.

It was my mother's cousin's birthday on Sunday, so we all celebrated, which was fun. I haven't even seen my own cousins for so long that it was very good to see most of the family together (side note: my grandmother has 2 sisters and 3 brothers, so we get VERY crowded even when not everyone is there).

Still, I feel like I've OD'd on family, though, and I think once a year is enough.

P.S. You know how LJ gave Paid Accounts 3 extra days for the downtime they had? They canceled mine 3 days earlier, so I don't think I'll be paying for it again unless I feel it's necessary.

I had half a day at work today because there's no place to even sit. I packed up my work laptop and all the documents I need to work from home 'cos I have tomorrow off, too. YEAH! I can work in my PJs!

Can't sleep. Upon my wife's [info]tongueeatcheek suggestion, I've been reading this site all night. As sick as it sounds, I'm pretty damn fascinated.

If someone discusses UFOs at a party, do you assume they're a visionary or bonkers? Do you consider yourself a believer or a skeptic?

Please tell me there's at least one of you who loves this show. Pretty, please, with cherry on top? And yeah, I have a high-school-girl crush on Jason Segel.

Three reasons that can make a Friday be hell:
  1. You die before you see the end of it.
  2. Somebody else dies, and you have to attend their funeral.
  3. You have to work on Saturday.

Has anyone read The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari by Robin Sharma? I'm halfway through the book, and I'm wondering if it gets any better later because I'm bored to death with it. ETA: Never mind. I just finished it and wasted 2 precious hours of my life.

My office is moving to a difference location, so we've been packing boxes and sorting stuff out all day. I feel like it's time wasted because I could get so much writing done within that time, yet I refuse to bring it home and work on it here because even though my life is lame, I seem to have no time for myself.

Reminder: MURSDAY REVOLUTION (thanks to [info]vaisselle for coming with a name for it) starts this Thursday, so start thinking about what songs will be in your mixtape.
