This is the one thing I loathe about knitting.

+1 )

I was considering a Star Wars marathon, but I think I'm gonna start watching LOTR instead.

I've finally finished the mittens, and I cannot wait to wear them.

Merion Mitts pattern here.

And as soon as I get paid (hopefully Friday), I'm getting myself a Gorillapod.

I've been trying to finish a paper I'm writing for someone else, but my shitty laptop is being a bitch. Apparently I can't have Word, PS and Firefox open all at the same time even though I need to. BOOOOOOOO.

Some stuff I've recently finished:

I'm gonna take a nap and then go back to work. Otherwise I might just throw my laptop out of the window.

Woke up early to go to the hospital with mom. Doctors always make me queasy, except for the dentist, so I always drag her with me because she makes me feel safe. Anyway... I've been put on anti-depressants again. It seems like whenever I get rid of them, they come get me back. What I'm really sick of hearing is every doctor telling me to "try to not think too much." It's almost like they think I love laying awake at night, thinking about shit that I don't want anything to do with. Oh, well...

During that time we had to waste, mom and I had coffee and snacks and then walked around. At this shoe store, I saw a pair of cute shoes so we went in. And then, once we were inside, I absolutely fell in love with these and, of course, bought them. (I'm such a sucker for Mary Janes!) Later on we went to the mall to exchange the shirt my aunt got for me --it was too small; surprise, surprise!-- and I got this purse, which can easily hold a few books, my planner, journal and my ancient Discman. Oh, yes. I pick even my purses according to my dorky junk.

I HATEHATEHATE these ads, and I hate the TV commercial even more. If I were Obama, I'd sue their asses.

I've finally finished the spring purse (still gotta do the lining and sew the zipper though):

Front.

Back.

I think that's all for now. These pills are already kicking in, so I'm gonna lie down and watch Six Feet Under.

The boring part of the Spring Purse is finished. Now comes the fun part: decorating it with flowers and butterflies and possibly birds. I've knit the birds, but I'm not sewing them on before I can be convinced they DO indeed look like birds.

More and more I'm realizing that I'm very behind on my "teen" and "kids" reading. I just got Smack by Melvin Burgess in the mail today and started reading it, and when I found out the main character is 14 years old, I went, not again! Then, of course, it got me thinking... I read Go Ask Alice when I was in college, just because it's supposedly one of those books everyone should have read. I do love the Harry Potter Series, but I was already too old to be the target audience when I read them. Same for the Twilight Saga. I never got around to reading Chronicles of Narnia or His Dark Materials...

Obviously, when my age group was reading those, I was spending time with Louisa May Alcott, Mark Twain, Emily Bronte, Daphne Du Maurier, Jane Austen, Charles Dickens and most of the rest of the classics. I only regret the fact that at the time I had to read them in Turkish. It's okay though, 'cos now I'm re-reading most of them in English, and it's like a whole new world that makes a lot more sense.

I've finally finished the mermaid. More pictures here, and you all should go look because I even gave her boobies! Hehe.

I've pretty much shopped all weekend. I got new yarn, beads and shiz, and finally a 500GB external drive. Husby chose it 'cos he knows this stuff, and he helped me set it up. He then took it home with him because he's gonna fill it up quite a bit and give it back to me tomorrow.

It's weird that I don't feel like writing about most of the things that have happened and/or are still happening. Where's joy?!

I was gonna make a matching scarf too, but I don't have enough yarn left over. Oh, well...

I can't seem to rest this weekend. It's so frustrating.

I need to get a life.

Or, sleeping pills that actually DO work.

And my sister bought it already, hehe.

  • Periods suck.
  • I'm resisting the urge to watch The Curious Case of Benjamin Button online because I really wanna see it at the movies. I was going to tonight, but that didn't happen. Hopefully sometime this week.
  • My room is the coldest of the apartment. It's okay, but when they turn the heat off I literally start freezing.

I've started working on a new scarf, and it's coming out better than I've imagined. I'm calling it "In Bloom."

Mondays are just so damn annoying.
