This is the one thing I loathe about knitting.

I was considering a Star Wars marathon, but I think I'm gonna start watching LOTR instead.

I've finally finished the mittens, and I cannot wait to wear them.

And as soon as I get paid (hopefully Friday), I'm getting myself a Gorillapod.

  • I've been super-busy at work, and I'm sure it's not cooling down any time soon. This is one of the many reasons why I've abandoned the 365 Days project.
  • Another reason for that is my Pro account on Flickr expires in a few days, and I can't afford to renew it. Anyone know of any other similar sites that let you upload more photos? And does anyone know if Flickr deletes things if you don't renew your Pro account? I have to save a lot of the photos if that's the case.
  • I've owed letters to a few of you for a while now. I've mailed them this morning. Packages, on the other hand, will have to wait until probably the end of January because I'm totally broke until I can pay off the Green Card Lottery.
  • I'm not doing any Christmas present exchanges this year, because, like I've said above, I can't afford it. I might be sending out cards though, depending on whether or not I can set money aside for it. I'll let you guys know.
  • In general, I'm really struggling financially, and work is just unbearable these days, which is why you see a lot of FML kinda messages from me lately.

In more uplifting news, here's the finished version of the knitted moustache I posted a while ago:

If Flickr isn't lying, tere means hello in Estonian. Nice, right?

365.34: Knitted moustache. I'm thinking maybe I should grow a real one, no? Part of a bigger project, but photos of that shall come later when it reaches its destined owner.

I can't wait to get paid 'cos, seriously, look at my eyebrows!

And don't forget, guys... MURSDAY IS A DAY AWAY.

P.S. I think using "dirty whore" to insult someone is rather redundant. Are there whores who aren't dirty? Doesn't being a whore already contain the dirty within itself? If someone's dirty, they're dirty. But if someone's a whore, they're both dirty AND a whore. No?

365.30: I've finished this yesterday. I have a feeling I'll be wearing it all winder, considering the weather gets cold enough-- *fingers crossed*

I was going to update about going to Yalova for the Ramadan holidays, but I don't feel like it. Short version: I hate being dragged EVERYWHERE and having to interact with unnecessary people, yet that's exactly what I had to do. I was up at 8am every morning, including the day after the Emmys. For those of you who didn't know, I watched it live, which meant the red carpet started at 1am, and I have no idea when it ended, but the sun was definitely up and burning.

The suckiest part of it was that my grandmother's oldest sister's daughter is creating drama and stirring up the family YET AGAIN. Even her brother agrees she's gone bananas, but people who don't know her believe her, which is enough for it to cause a scene in Izmit, where most of our relatives live. Oh, well.

It was my mother's cousin's birthday on Sunday, so we all celebrated, which was fun. I haven't even seen my own cousins for so long that it was very good to see most of the family together (side note: my grandmother has 2 sisters and 3 brothers, so we get VERY crowded even when not everyone is there).

Still, I feel like I've OD'd on family, though, and I think once a year is enough.

P.S. You know how LJ gave Paid Accounts 3 extra days for the downtime they had? They canceled mine 3 days earlier, so I don't think I'll be paying for it again unless I feel it's necessary.

This week went by way too slowly; I thought it was never going to end. Although today was crazy at work, thank goodness it's over, and I can just sit back and relax study Spanish.

I was going through my yarn to see what I can work with, and I found the sweater I'd started back in April. I have the back and half of the left-front finished, but I don't think I like it anymore-- the yarn I was knitting is way too thick for this project, and the lace parts look like I've knitted it all wrong, even though I haven't. It's quite a big amount of yarn (5 skeins used, 5 still sitting aside) so I'll just un-knit it and see what I else I can make.

I don't knot how it happened, but my eye looks freaky in the second one.

ETA: This makes me all giggly whenever I see it. I'm such a dork.

  • Flickr has been pissing me off big time. About two weeks ago, my sister gave me money to deposit into my account so we could use my online credit card to renew her Pro Account. We tried the card itself AND PayPal, but Flickr kept saying the address on the card and the account address didn't match. Well, fine. But then the money was taken out of my account. WTF, right? How on earth does one get charged when the transaction says "pending?" Today I checked again and the money's back in my account. So I purchased her a gift account, which went smoothly. Yet, now, when I log into her account and try to redeem the gift, it doesn't accept the password they've given me. WTF, FLICKR? WHAT THEEEEE FUCK? I'm gonna try again later tonight or tomorrow, and it better work.
  • My credit card application had gone through on the 7th. And they said they mailed it on the 8th. Yet, it's not here. I wanna get a friggin' iPod already 'cos walking to and from work without any music just sucks.
  • This is my current knitting project. I have yarn in a similar color, and I really like the pattern. And I'm keeping these for myself this time. Except this one beanie, everything seems to disappear as soon as I make them-- yes, mom snagged the cupcakes already.
  • This show cracks me up. I don't understand why nobody ever suggested I watch it.

I'm off to dry my hair and watch the new True Blood episode.

Not that I have the money to really shop...

Question to my US friends: Would anyone have time to get to the post office next month? I need this knitting needle set, but stupid KnitPicks doesn't ship overseas. So what I'd like to do is pay for them, get them shipped to you, and then you mail them to me. I can send you the shipping money via PayPal or Western Union, whichever one you'd prefer.

This isn't happening 'till the beginning of next month since I'm getting paid then. I thought I'd put it out there early so I can find another way if this fails.

Thank you!
