This kid is fucking brilliant. I love the song, and I love how you can tell he loves what he's doing. So, congratulations, Norway; it was well-deserved.

Other than that, the results weren't very surprising. If you know your politics, you can just tell who's gonna give the highest point to whom. The only surprise disappointment was Azerbaijan-- them coming in third place is a fucking joke. Hadise was amazing, so I'm hoping people don't give her a hard time when she gets back.

• Today was the regional elections here. I was all hopeful and all when I got up this morning, yet this totally sucks.
• hauntedlaundry.org has been updated. Some of you were wanting to read my Placebo interview, and it's up in the writing section now along with the rest of the articles.
• Speaking of Placebo... THEY'RE GONNA BE IN TURKEY IN JUNE! And, of course, I'm going. Husby's following up to see when tickets go on sale so we can get ours right away. I have to somehow get backstage or make myself visible or something-- I want Stef to autograph our photo together.
• I had dinner with my father, his girlfriend, my sister and her friend tonight. Dad and I have been getting along a lot better lately, which is a good thing. I've always said I'd never forgive him, and I still don't think I can, but he's trying so he definitely gets credit for that. He actually asked me if I needed money, and he gave me some anyway even though I said no. I know this sounds rather horrible, as if it's all about the money, but really it's not.
• I really wanna go bowling. Gotta arrange that soon.

PLACEBO - BATTLE FOR THE SUN


It's almost like they can FEEL I'm hungry for them, hahah.

The subject doesn't make sense, I know. I guess I just wanted to type "vagina."

The words side of my not being able to say NO to people I love to death: I have to take my grandmother to a fucking wedding tomorrow. A WEDDING! Yuck. The Turkish people on my friends list will understand better what kinda hell it will be. I've never been to an American wedding, but I'm pretty sure they're not worse than Turkish ones.

Pari finally put up some photos from last Saturday. There was one where the waiter took a picture of all of us, and he didn't put that one up for some reason. And yes, I've already started harassing him for it. Here's the one of me and Barkin (my husby) way before the whole the-cab-driver-stole-my-shoe incident.



Normally, I hardly ever get cold, but tonight I'm freezing.

I was gonna go to Buyukada with a bunch of my single friends Friday night so we could avoid Valentine's Day and just party. Doesn't look like it'll happen because the weather's not on our side. Thankfully, Jack & Jill by James Patterson, which is the third book after Kiss the Girls, came in today. So it looks like I do have a date after all, with Mr. Alex Cross.

Yes, I did make Edward himself wear it, and my grandmother was cracking up as I was taking the photos. Bigger versions are at my Flickr.

I keep forgetting how much I fucking love this album, and whenever it pops up on my iTunes, I listen to it a couple of times before I can move on. And I'm sure every girl at/around my age has the same memories of it: the sudden urge to bleach the hair; refusing to go out without red lipstick; singing along to "Just A Girl," going that's me! that's me; making out sessions to "Don't Speak..."

I do miss those days sometimes.
