Pretty, please, with cherries on top?

I'm half-way through the third season; it's crazy. Every night when I see 4:00am on my cell, I say to myself, "one more episode, and I'm going to sleep." And then my fucking alarm goes off, and I get all upset because it's time to get ready for work midway through an episode. I should get a life, eh? Or drink down a couple of "purple-nurples" to keep up!

There's really nothing to update about. I'm still workingworkingworking and not much else. My ex-girlfriend did get us tickets for New Moon for Friday night, though. Apparently they've sold out way too fast. Damn those 12-year olds and their parents' credit cards, lol. We're catching the 11pm one, and I'm hoping it won't be too chaotic, yet I'm not too crazy about how much I'll have to pay for the cab ride home. Oh, well.

And I totally nailed it, mind you. I love how most recipes will give you directions on how to make the filling, and then on the ingredients list, they have "pie crust." Well, guess what? I had to make that myself, too, because they don't sell them like that here. Sometime this week I think I'm gonna make another one and take it to the office. Maybe it'll cheer everyone up a little bit.

In other news, I've started watching Supernatural. I'm only 6 episodes in, and I do love it so far. But, man... Certain parts seriously freak me the fuck out because I'm pretty superstitious myself, believing in urban legends and everything... That episode about Bloody Mary gave me nightmares. That's all I'm sayin'.

Photobucket

I've pissed my pants multiple times watching the latest episode of CASTLE! The brown coat is back! And he's considering being a space pirate for Halloween!

NATHAN FILLION, I LOVE YOU!

On a completely different note, what's up with certain shows skipping episodes? Last week there was no new Vampire Diaries. And this week there's no How I Met Your Mother or The Big Bang Theory. Do I suck at finding them, or did they just not air?

2:33am Edit: I've realized I've unintentionally lied to [info]busem when I said I'd seen The Jane Austen Book Club because I had it confused with Becoming Jane, which I had in fact seen. Anyway... Watched it tonight and loved it. I just love Jane Austen; I can't help it.

I FUCKING LOVE THIS SHOW. First, I felt like the Richard Castle character was a Hank Moody rip-off, but he's even better because Nathan Fillion makes me all ticklish in the knees, and he plays poker with James Patterson.

  • I'm having a love&hate relationship with Stephanie Kuehnert's Ballads of Suburbia. I've never lived in the suburbs, but I'm finding out that they're no different than city ballads, and some parts make me cringe because they remind me so much of my youth-- like the cutting and the drugs and the heartaches... Plus, she has quotes from kickass songs at the beginning of every part of the book, and the Tori Amos one killed me: "She's been everybody else's girl; Maybe one day she'll be her own." I wish I wasn't so damn tired all the time so I could read more than one chapter every night, but that's not very likely lately.
  • I'm getting sick of writing in bullets, but that's all I can do for now.
  • I've just noticed that some episodes of Six Feet Under are directed by Rodrigo Garcia. This made me SQUEEEEEEEEEE big time 'cos how awesome is that?
  • I've always been pretty poor, but never in debt. Now that's happened, too. Sad, sad... I was actually expecting a phone call or something from my bank because I max'd it the second day I had it. It's for a good cause, though. Those of you who know, know.
  • I have to get up earlier than I normally do tomorrow because [info]0oangelface24o0 was nice enough to let me mail the knitting needles to her, and I need to Western Union the shipping money to her. Thank goodness there's a currency exchange office right by the bank, and I don't have to travel extra for that.

I'm thinking we should start Music Thursdays and share mixtapes (well, mix zip files, really) of songs we've been obsessed with that week. 'cos Thursday is such a stupid, unnecessary day. Who's in?
29th-Aug-2009 02:23 pm - Boring Saturday.
books: JT
Sometimes it amazes me how boring my life is. Oh, well.

You know how sometimes people on your friend's list (and/or Google Reader) post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when are they working THERE? Since when are they dating HIM/HER? since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you *should* already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.

Please copy mine below, erase my answers putting yours in their place then post it in your journal! Please elaborate on the questions that would benefit from elaboration! One-Word-Answers seldom help anyone out :)

By the way, for those of you who are doing the photo-a-day thing or are planning to, Craig e-mailed me this great website when he found out I was doing it. And just like he said, it's not one of those "elitist photography websites that only talk about the biggest newest most expensive camera gear bullshit" and can be useful to those like me who have no photography skills.

That's enough linking for a day, eh?

ETA: I've just started watching the 5th season of WEEDS. I seriously love this show.

  • Flickr has been pissing me off big time. About two weeks ago, my sister gave me money to deposit into my account so we could use my online credit card to renew her Pro Account. We tried the card itself AND PayPal, but Flickr kept saying the address on the card and the account address didn't match. Well, fine. But then the money was taken out of my account. WTF, right? How on earth does one get charged when the transaction says "pending?" Today I checked again and the money's back in my account. So I purchased her a gift account, which went smoothly. Yet, now, when I log into her account and try to redeem the gift, it doesn't accept the password they've given me. WTF, FLICKR? WHAT THEEEEE FUCK? I'm gonna try again later tonight or tomorrow, and it better work.
  • My credit card application had gone through on the 7th. And they said they mailed it on the 8th. Yet, it's not here. I wanna get a friggin' iPod already 'cos walking to and from work without any music just sucks.
  • This is my current knitting project. I have yarn in a similar color, and I really like the pattern. And I'm keeping these for myself this time. Except this one beanie, everything seems to disappear as soon as I make them-- yes, mom snagged the cupcakes already.
  • This show cracks me up. I don't understand why nobody ever suggested I watch it.

I'm off to dry my hair and watch the new True Blood episode.
5th-Aug-2009 01:20 am - Mad Men
books: JT

I just started watching season two, and I must say, I like this show a lot. For one thing, I love the late 50's, early 60's... But more than that, I love how they ALL look perfect with no hair out of place, being in expensive suits and dresses and well-decorated homes, yet they're all broken inside.

I do love the costumes, but I mostly love the nail polish shades. Someone should come up with a Mad Men Nail Polish line already.

Back to watching.

Woke up early to go to the hospital with mom. Doctors always make me queasy, except for the dentist, so I always drag her with me because she makes me feel safe. Anyway... I've been put on anti-depressants again. It seems like whenever I get rid of them, they come get me back. What I'm really sick of hearing is every doctor telling me to "try to not think too much." It's almost like they think I love laying awake at night, thinking about shit that I don't want anything to do with. Oh, well...

During that time we had to waste, mom and I had coffee and snacks and then walked around. At this shoe store, I saw a pair of cute shoes so we went in. And then, once we were inside, I absolutely fell in love with these and, of course, bought them. (I'm such a sucker for Mary Janes!) Later on we went to the mall to exchange the shirt my aunt got for me --it was too small; surprise, surprise!-- and I got this purse, which can easily hold a few books, my planner, journal and my ancient Discman. Oh, yes. I pick even my purses according to my dorky junk.

I HATEHATEHATE these ads, and I hate the TV commercial even more. If I were Obama, I'd sue their asses.

I've finally finished the spring purse (still gotta do the lining and sew the zipper though):

Front.

Back.

I think that's all for now. These pills are already kicking in, so I'm gonna lie down and watch Six Feet Under.

And there's even a website to prove it.

I've been having a SATC marathon since Friday night, and the more I watch, the more I hate Carrie Bradshaw-- not that I ever really like her anyway. And am I the only one who thinks nothing looks good on her? That oh-I'm-so-sexy look she throws at times? Yuck.

Anyway...

Samantha: Babies are not my scene. And from what I've heard, this one's an asshole.
Carrie: You can't call a baby an asshole.
Samantha: Why not? She called him a meatloaf.

Heh.

God, I'm pushing my limits with this whole boredom thing.
